Sample Project: Design Five Corners
Design Five Corners was a six-month long planning and design project enabling residents of Essex Junction, Vermont to imagine a dense, walkable downtown for their community. The public planning process engaged residents through public events, old-school networking, online surveys, and social media.
Based on public input, Terra Firma Urban Design created a strategic vision showing how redevelopment of key parcels to a higher density, reclaiming street space for the public, and improving pedestrian infrastructure could help revitalize a declining village center.
